"I have always had a great love for anything that time jumps, and then when you add in magical gemstones and dragons, well you can't go wrong. Lisa Shambrook has a very descriptive style of writing that draws on all the senses and paints a vibrant picture.... It is full of rich scenery and world building. I recommend it to all those people that enjoy a good adventure book with magic and dragons."

"This book is a truly remarkable achievement. The tale centres around Gabrie and her search for her young sister after they were separated in a post-apocalyptic world. It's a collection of short stories by different authors, their remit being that their characters had to meet Gabrie. How this was put together to form a cohesive story is beyond amazing. You don't feel as if the flow of the story or the quality or style of the writing falters as it changes from author to author. The whole is brought together at the end and embraces the characters Gabrie has met throughout the tale - characters I came to care about through their own stories. I have to say that the end knocked the wind out of me. I enjoyed this tale immensely."

22nd March 2017: A Symphony of Dragons
"In a Symphony of Dragons...Shambrook breathes a fresh and vigorous spin into dragon-themed tales. This fantasy collection includes seven stories, where each tale of desire, love, happiness, sacrifice, triumph and much more is brought to life, just as the seasons are brought by dragons. Deftly written in Shambrook’s beautiful and lyrical prose, the overall narrative offers a wide range of perspectives that allow readers to interpret their personal views in the context of the stories. Simply put, readers’ imaginations will definitely soar high."

"The interplay between the 14 authors in Human 76 could have easily made for the "fractured world" the title promises, but instead we're treated to an amazing collaboration where each new perspective and new character makes the entire world richer and adds new flavor and mystery to the legend of Ghabrie. The editors did an excellent job of weaving together a mix of storytelling styles into something that really felt cohesive but maintained the uniqueness of many voices. I'd love to read more in this world."

"Jasmine doesn't have many memories of her sister, yet she is impacted so much by Freya. I found myself drawn into the story and read the book rather quickly. It was a touching, heartfelt story - the kind of book you read and it lingers in your mind afterwards."

4th July 2015: Beneath the Old Oak
“I was awake until about 1 am reading this one. I could have put it down anytime, just didn't want to.
This story leans heavily to the subject of depression. There are many of those on the kindle, few quite as believable, even less as credible. The family with a single child are wonderfully developed as they are deeply troubled.
…the oak tree becomes symbolic of the escape from harsh reality for both mother and child when there are so many issues that should be confronted, so many secrets that should be out in the open.
This is the kind of book I recommend people read regardless of what kind of genre you prefer. It’s one for everybody. Just read it.”

"...wonderful interplay between afterlife themes and how memory and loss affect the living. It is about moving on and moving forward for the living and the dead, and lets be clear about this, there is soooo much tragedy in this one, but what emerges from it is something beautiful.
I would say that if you are a fan of Mitch Albom then this is absolutely something you will love."

“Beneath the Rainbow takes the reader on a journey through heartbreak, grief, redemption, and the power of keeping dreams alive. This story had me crying from the very beginning, but it’s as much about friendship and healing as it is about grief and loss. This is a must-read not only for those who have experienced loss but for anyone who’s looking for an emotional, heart-warming story.”

“Once in a while a book totally stirs you and pulls you right in, this is it! "Beneath the Rainbow" captivates, enthrals and invites you on a magical journey of time as it moves beyond this life into the next.
It is true genius how the author interweaves messages of hope and inspiration into the lives of the characters. Thomas teaches us how to fulfil our dreams and Freya teaches us how to hold on and when to let go. I recommend this book to anyone who is dealing with any kind of loss or anyone who just wants to enjoy a captivating read.

“Every parent or indeed anyone who remembers the magic of their own childhood will identify with this book from the very first page. What starts off as a personal tragedy quickly blossoms into an enchanting story of joy, happy memories, and hope.
On a literary note, the book employs a stream of consciousness style that bears a well-deserved comparison with Virginia Woolf's Mrs Dalloway.
A cracking good read that even the most cynical of us are likely to be left with perhaps a tear of joy, and a hope that maybe, just maybe, there could be an element of truth in its vivid description of Freya's journey and what lies beyond...”

“I was completely caught off guard by this breathtaking story. The story, though it deals with grief and learning to let go of a loved one, is actually a story of friendship, love and healing. It is sweet, touching, uplifting, and frankly just beautiful. The writing is flawless. The characters are real and wonderfully developed. There are two small romantic subplots that are incredibly sweet. The ending was exactly what I was hoping for and the story left me smiling and feeling incredibly fulfilled. I would highly recommend this book to anyone, of any age. It is one of the best books I have read all year.”
